Eclipse Improves the Sound System at Raleigh’s Hi5

Rocky Top Hospitality is a long time customer of Eclipse. They own Bogart’s, Red Room, Michael Dean’s, Hi5, Twisted Fork, 1705 Prime, and the Mash House. Rocky Top recently contracted us to do several major projects at their Hi5 Sports Restaurant.

Hi5 is a very unique sports bar in that at night it actually turns into a club. There are DJ booths in the front and back of the establishment. Our first job was to sort our the front DJ booth. The booth has gone through several phases over the years, but this latest edition is definitely the most user-friendly. We hired our DJ booth designer and builder, Jason, to come up with a way to maximize the space requirements and to fit a ton of cable boxes, DJ gear, amps, and more into the unit. We ended up adding a small section to the right of the exisiting cabinets.

As you can see from the pictures, the booth turned out great. Another project that we took on with this particular booth was adding a “trap door” to the back side so that we could access all of the wiring simply by opening the back of the DJ booth. Now, if there is ever a problem, we can simply unlock the side of the booth facing the bar and make the repairs! Great idea!

After completing the front, we moved to the back where the main “club” section is. We removed two EV sx100 speakers and transferred them to the front. Next, we installed four brand new Yamaha full range speakers and another 18” Yamaha sub. We also added a 3rd QSC amp to the rack. This room sounds amazing! Drilling holes in the concrete ceiling to fly the speakers was not so great, but the end result made up for it.

The final phase of this project is going to be new intelligent lighting, hopefully coming this April.
